Giants To Sign Alyssa Milano..err Brad Penny

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Rumors | COMMENTS: None Yet

Former FUCKING Dodger, Marlin, Red Sox, and beau of universal hottie Alyssa Milano, Brad Penny will be signed by the San Francisco Giants if he clears waivers within the hour.
Penny has been known to be a serious dickwad, but, we’re used to that. We did afterall employ Jeff Kent and Barry Bonds for a number of years.
Penny is expected to take over the 5th starter role and possibly start a game in the Philadelphia series.

Recap: Giants Sweep Rockies

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

That might have been one of the best, if not the best moment, in the last few years other than Bonds doing his thing in 07. And from all people…Edgar Renteria? The same Renteria who’s struggled to hit the ball past the pitcher so many times, or even better, just make contact?
I guess all is forgiven on a single swing of the bat.
For those that missed it, the Giants trailed 2-5 with two outs in the bottom of the 7th inning yesterday after Matt Cain was not Matt Cain. With runners on first and second, He Hate Me Fred Lewis [...]

Recap: Giants Melt Rockies For One Night

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Previews, Game Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

Rockies – 0
Giants – 2

You have to wonder what Lincecum was thinking all night, don’t you? Another knockout performance and the Giants piss their pants worse than a 4 year old at Disneyland for their first time. I mean seriously – how many players did they plan on leaving in scoring position? 932? They really should have blown out the Rockies tonight with the bases being left loaded in the 1st inning and runners on 2nd and 3rd in the second and fourth, but no – no – we don’t need that! We need a tight, make you wanna crap [...]

Giants Claim Trevor Hoffman Off Waivers

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: MLB, Rumors | COMMENTS: None Yet

There were rumors yesterday that the Giants actually claimed Cubs starter Rich Harden off waivers, but, it looks like it was actually the all-time saves leader Trevor Hoffman who they grabbed.
The Giants, along with every other team could use some help in the bullpen, so claiming Hoffman wasn’t a bad idea at all but it’s expected the Brewers are going to set a pretty high price on Hoffman. With that said, the Giants may have little interest in working out a deal for Hoffman as the move might have simply been a block so the Rockies and Dodgers couldn’t claim [...]

Preview: Round 2 Rockies & Giants Wild Card Battle

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Previews | COMMENTS: None Yet

No excuses. None.
Sure, the injury bug hit at the wrong time. No, Bengie Molina wont be playing tonight nor much of the series due to a strained calf. And no, Pablo Sandoval wont be playing Friday night and it’s possible he may miss the entire series. Freddy Sanchez sits on the DL. But, we’re home. A place where we just got outscored 18-9 in the three combined games with the Arizona Diambondbacks, yet, won 2 out of 3. It’s a magical place. A place where we’re 41-21, a record that is third best in the league behind the Red Sox [...]

Recap: Giants Win On Walkoff…Sorta

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

It wasn’t the bottom of the 9th, but, it was about as much of a walkoff homer as you can get, without it actually being one.
Doug Davis mastered the Giants for the second time this season at AT&T Park, throwing 7 2/3 of one run ball. How he did it once, let alone twice, is quite an attribute to the pathetic offense the Giants have, but tonight we can forget about that. With Davis departing on a double switch, the Diamondbacks brought in closer Chad Qualls for the four out save. A bad, bad move. The Giants brought Bengie Molina [...]

Sanchez To The DL – Ryan Rohlinger Called Up

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: News & Notes, Players | COMMENTS: None Yet

In the most obvious of news, horrible trade acquisition Freddy Sanchez was sent to the DL this afternoon, retroactive to the 18th of August. He’ll be eligible to return from the DL on September 2nd, shortly after the Giants embark on their last eastern road trip of the year.
To take Sanchez’s place on the roster, the Giants called up Ryan Rohlinger who is hitting .281 with 16 homers and 78 RBI for the Fresno Grizzlies this year.
Added note for tonight’s game – Sandoval said he wants to play, but, the Giants won’t let him. They feel the need to cause [...]

Recap: Season Is Over.

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

Giants – 4
Rockies – 6
14 innings of pain
I’ve seen a lot of bad things in my time. A lot. I do root for the Sacramento Kings as well. So, I know all about epic meltdowns. Epic fails. This though…this climbed it’s way to the top of the list.
I mean – after getting a 3 run lead in the top of the 14th, they walk a guy who most likely just fractured his leg the pitch prior (fouled a 3-2 pitch off his leg and lay on the ground for 5 minutes) and they walk Adam Eaton who came into pitch [...]

Freddy Sanchez Close To The DL

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Players, Rumors | COMMENTS: None Yet

And in other news, I just pooped.
John Shea of SFGate reported this morning that Bruce Bochy and the Giants are starting to come to terms with the idea that Freddy Sanchez might need to be sent to the DL. Sanchez has missed the last 6 games, is doubtful for today (even though we’ve been told the last 4 days he was going to play…) and the sky is blue.
In some positive news, I guess, Randy Johnson is hoping to play before season end. Yea, you’re right. I’m not sure how positive that really is. I can’t imagine, even as well [...]

I can summerize this game in one word. Fuck.
Goodnight.
