Preview – Lord Lincecum To Slay Rockies?

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Previews | COMMENTS: None Yet

Holy shit, I hope so…
For you weather reporters out there, it was 94 degrees at first pitch last night and will be in the upper 90’s again today, which means you can pretty much ignore the whole “humidor” thing. Even with Lincecum on the mound today, it’s going to be a struggle more likely than not. A routine pop up to second base is going to be a 481 moon shot. I’m just warning you…
First pitch between Lincecum and Ubaldo Jimenez is at 12:10 Giant time. Put your seat belts on…
Also of note from last nights game – Freddy Sanchez. [...]

Uh, it’s only one game. It’s only one game. It’s only one game, right? Right?! *tries to remain calm*…it’s just a game…one single ga…AKAJEREE FUCKK!K!!!!! *alarms sound* ABORT! ABORT! PUPPIES ARE DYING!!!
After what looked to be a promising game when the Giants miraculously jumped out to another 5 run lead for the second night in a row, this one turned wrong – quickly. Remember when Johan Santana “accidentally” threw at Pablo Sandoval in retaliation for the David Wright plunking? Yea, so does the MLB. They fined Santana an undisclosed amount. Sandoval had no issue with the beaning though, joking with NY reporters that his fellow Venezuelan must not play the local sport, fusilado, which is similar to dodge ball.

Leaking as well from the NY papers are the rumors that the Giants did indeed grab Gary Sheffield off waivers, who the Mets quickly removed…for what reason I can’t figure out. The Mets aren’t going any place. Sheffield is unhappy. They’ve publicly said they wont [...]

Giants Beat Rockies In Round 1 Of Wild Card Battle

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Recaps | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Final Score:
Giants – 6
Rockies – 3
I’m not sure what was more entertaining. The fact that the Giants proved me totally wrong by not only winning a huge game on the road, but, the fact they scored 6 runs or Duane Kuiper’s hilarious botched homerun call. Aaron Rowand is still waiting for his apology. I’ve never heard a home run call sound like such a eulogy. When is Rowand’s funeral?
Overall though, as important as the game was and as nice as it was to win, I’m not sure I’ve went through a 3-run win that felt more like a 2-run loss [...]
