Recap: We’re Not In This Thing

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

Cubs – 3
Giants – 0
Do I really need to say anything? I think that graphic says enough. How can a manager and a hitting coach continually allow these guys to go up to the plate and randomly hack like they’re trying to knock down a giant redwood? It amazes me. Zambrano threw a complete game and didn’t even throw 100 pitches. WTF. And that’s not the first time somebody has done that to the Giants this year. Simply amazing.
The Giants were one pitch away from being back 3 games coming into Friday morning. Now, they’re out 5 with 8 games [...]

Recap: Holy Crap That Was Painful

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Recaps | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Giants – A few runs
Diamondbacks – I can’t count that high
Yikes. The game is still in the bottom of the 4th as I write this, but, there is no way the Giants are coming back. What a disaster. No, really. A fuckin disaster. I mean the Giants were pretty much out of this thing anyway, other then that whole “mathematical” thing they had going for them but what a kick to the balls.
The Diamondbacks are a really shitty team. One of the worst in baseball. And for Matt Cain (who’s stunk sorta lately) to get lit up by a bunch [...]

Recap: Giants Squeak Out A Win. Glass Sanchez Hurt.

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

Giants – 5
Diamondbacks – 4
Jesus Christ that was a long game. And I don’t think that was my imagination. It was a weird game too. Pablo Sandoval nearly falling down stealing second base. Errors all over the diamond. Freddy Sanchez being carried after the field while walking. Justin Upton str…wait, what? Oh! About that whole Freddy Sanchez thing.
Aaron Rowand tossed a ball back into the infield (a bit off course) that got by Juan Uribe, in which Freddy Sanchez backed it up. He had to slowly trot/walk about 3-4 steps to get to it and in doing so, starting hopping [...]

Recap: Dodgers Beat Giants…Again…And Again

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

Giants – 2
Dodgers – 6
You know, you think the worst news I’d have today would be the Dodgers beating the Giants, again. But that’s actually not the worst news of the day. That actually would be the Angel Villalona news. What Angel Villalona news you ask? This…
Yep. You read right. One of the Giants top hitting prospects, possibly the second best offensive prospect behind Buster Posey is being investigated for murder. This is the same guy who was deemed “untouchable” by the front office in trade demands.
So, pas the whole potential “murder thing”, cause that’s really not important…. [...]

Recap: Dodgers Even Series 1-1

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

I’m magic. Did you know that? I am. Wanna know how?
Well, as I write this, the Giants are currently down 7-1 to the fuckers from LA Dodgers. And being I’m magic, I know in advance that the Giants will not win this game. I know, I know, keep your panties on. It’s a skill you wish you had, but, alas – you don’t. Envy me.
So tomorrow will be the rubber game, which in all honesty is the most Giant fans had to ask coming into this series. The opportunity to win 2 out of 3 versus the Dodgers, in LA? [...]

Recap: Rockies Avoid Sweep

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

Rockies – 4
Giants – 3
I’m sure you’re expecting a huge, drawn out, curse filled rant against the Giants right now…and that’s not going to happen. While there were some stupid moments, the Giants fought back hard last night. I was proud of them. No, they didn’t finish the job…but they gave it what they had. Sure, a Rockies error helped them out…but they didn’t give up.
De La Rosa pitched an incredible game and credit is given when credit is due. I don’t care if the Anaheim Angels and their potent offense were up at the plate, De La Rosa would [...]

Randy Johnson Activated

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Players | COMMENTS: None Yet

Regulators – mount up.
The Big Unit was moved from the DL to the active roster today, clearing a spot for the big southpaw for a return to action. Johnson is expected to come out of the bullpen for the remainder of the regular season.
To clear the space, the Giants moved pitcher Justin Miller to the 60 day DL with elbow inflammation, ending his season…which you can be thankful for in many ways. I don’t mean that in a bad way, but, it’s obvious Justin wasn’t the same pitcher that we knew earlier in the year. And now, we know why.

Recap: Giants Maybe Won Again

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

Rockies – 2
Giants – 10
The Giants might have won last night. They also might have scored 10 runs while holding the potent Rockies offense to only 2 runs. They might have done this. They might also be going for a sweep tonight which would cut the Rockies Wild Card lead to only 1 1/2 games (1 game in the loss column).
I cannot confirm or deny that the Giants might possibly be going for a second straight sweep over the Rockies at AT&T Park for fear of catching a big case of the jinx.
So, I will only possibly say that it [...]

Recap: Giants Score Runs. Lots!

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

Is it too cliche to say that hitting is contagious? It is? Okay, I wont say it then. But damn! Hitting is contagious!
The Giants couldn’t score the first two games in the Dodger series (or most of the year) if they paid for runs. They lit up the Dodgers for seven runs on Sunday afternoon and proceeded to put up 9 on the Rockies behind Lincecum last night to close the Rockies Wild Card lead to 3.5 games.
Lincecum was mildly dominant, striking out 11 Rockies and never being in much of a threat despite only having one, 1-2-3 inning.
The Giants [...]
