Recap: Giants To Never Win Again

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

Dodgers- Too Many To Count
Giants – -2
Thanks to Heath Bell and the Padres (whom we can’t even beat) having a epic meltdown in the Top of the 9th inning (a game they WERE winning), the Giants now stand 5.5 out of the Wild Card behind the Rockies. And by my calculations, when you consider that they’re 5.5 back and play the Rockies three more times, and divide that by the number of home games the Giants still have remaining, I get a big stick shoved up my ass…since that feels watching these turdmonglers continue to fail and the he-haw hick [...]

Preview: Dodgers At Giants, Round 1

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Previews | COMMENTS: None Yet

Prediction? PAIN.
The Giants welcome the fucking assholes hated Los Angeles Dodgers to the Cove this weekend for a three game set, one that will undoubtedly pave the road on the Giants season. Starting today, the Giants are 4 1/2 games back of the Rockies in the Wild Card (with a 3 game series versus them starting Monday) and they sit 6.5 back of the NL West leading Dodgers. A poor showing this series and the Giants playoff hopes, which are already on life support, may finally drain out. A productive series and the Giants are still in the thick of [...]

Recap: We Didn’t Even Know Ya

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

Padres: 4
Giants: 2
Season: Over. Again. Well, assuming the Rockies win. Which tends to be par for the course these days. It’s still on life support if the Reds decide they’ll be nice and stop sucking for a day.
Good news? Catchers and pitchers report in about 150 days!

Recap: A Giant Fail

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Recaps, Players | COMMENTS: None Yet

Positives? Madison Bumgarner looked pretty nice, all be it, against the Padres. His fastball isn’t there yet and he’d get knocked around pretty good once teams figured him out, but, he looked very promising for a 20 year old and will make the Giants staff incredibly deep with Lincecum, Cain, and Sanchez in the future. But, he needs a year in AAA for the most part.
Moving on…
Last night’s game was awful. To blow a lead…and lose a game to the Padres like this at home was crushing. In a matter of about 5 minutes, the Giants went from potentially 4.5 [...]

Lincecum Hurt – Bumgarner Called Up

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Giants, Players | COMMENTS: None Yet

Giants ace Time Lincecum has been removed from starting tonights game versus the Padres due to a sore back. He is considered day-to-day.
This injury comes at a very odd time…some are speculating it’s simply a ploy to give Lincecum a rest before the big series versus the Dodgers and Rockies later this week (and into early next). Others are claiming this is a serious injury that the Giants need to take caution with. Me? I’ve got no fucking clue. I just know it comes out of no place…
The Giants called up highly ranked pitching prospoect Madison Bumgarner to replace Lincecum [...]

Giants Keep Winning – Rockies Keep Winning – And Buster Posey…

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Giants, MLB, Players | COMMENTS: None Yet

Good news? The Giants keep winning. They’ve won 3 out of 4 (2 of those on the road), are playing the woeful Padres (no jinx!), and are 14 games over .500.
Bad news? Everything I just said, the Rockies are doing – and doing so just a little better.
The Dodgers? Well, they’ve been about a .500 club since the All-Star break and the Rockies and Giants continue to creep closer and closer, but with only 24 games remaining, time is slowly running out for either team to catch the NL West leaders.
All three teams will battle each other at least once [...]

Recap: Giants Lose Aga..Wait, What? They Win!?

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

Giants – 3
Brewers – 2
I hate to be a negative nancy, but Jesus Christ – is there any team out there that can make a win feel like a loss? The Giants are excellent at it.
As if that game wasn’t torture enough, Jeff Suppan and his nearly 6.00 ERA took the hill against our offensively inept Giants and like every game, they made a horrible pitcher look excellent. Suppan held the Giants hitless through 4 2/3’s until Travis Ishikawa singled into center field (a ball Mike Cameron should have caught, btw). The next inning, the Giants FINALLY scored a couple [...]

Preview: Giants Offense Is Offensive

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Previews, Game Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

Uh, last night was uh, well, it was fucking horrible. The Giants offense is just – there are no words. And what words there might be are outlawed in a good 43 states. I mean really, what is Lincecum supposed to do? Throw a shut out every time he takes the mound? It’s almost as if the worst offensive in baseball thinks they can take a night off and somehow they’ll win 0-0 because he’s pitching.
The final inning was the clincher. Pablo Sandoval and Bengie Molina looked like they’ve never played baseball before…Randy Winn got lucky, and of course trust [...]

Recap: Penny Dominates Phillies

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

It was a masterful debut for new Giant Brad Penny. Going up against one of the most high powered offenses in baseball, Penny tossed 8 shutout innings against the Phillies last evening, leading to an eventual 4-0 winning. Jeremy Affeldt came in and closed off the 9th inning.
The scoring started with a two out single from Andres Torres which plated Nate Schierholtz. Torres had quite a battle with Phillies starter J.A. Happ, fouling off ball after ball in a lengthy 3-2 situation until he finally drove one back up the box. The following inning, Juan Uribe hit a moon-shot home [...]

Recap: Phillies Beat Giants – Fred Lewis Sucks

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

Excuse me for beating a dead horse, but, have I mentioned Fred Lewis fucking sucks? Seriously. He can’t even come into a game as a pinch runner and do anything worth while. You’re down one. You come in to pitch run. Cole Hamles never once even throws over to first base through two batters, and you never even so much as even put an ounce of desire into stealing?
Yea, sure, I guess you can say “well, maybe Bochy put the stop sign up”, but I highly doubt that. The one tool Lewis has over 29 of 30 guys on that [...]
