Google VR headset to be launched alongside Pixel and Pixel XL handsets
The Google VR headset will be launched together with Google’s new Pixel and Pixel XL phones that will also be the highlight of the event. The Daydream VR is expected to be optimized for the Pixel handsets though it is not clear whether it will be compatible with other headsets. Google’s plan is to provide low-level API access to developers. This move is expected to facilitate higher performance.
Revealing an appealing blend of products
According to the developer’s overview, the Pixel handsets will offer optimized support for the Daydream VR which means they will provide high-quality VR experiences. This is also a smart move for the company because the two products will complement each other, making them more appealing to customers.
The Daydream VR is designed to render the best VR experiences. It also features a controller that allows the user to be more expressive. Apart from competing in the VR market, Google is also expected to battle it out with companies such as Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) in the handset market.
