Though incomplete and despite the competition, the Walt Disney Co (NYSE:DIS) restaurant, PizzeRizzo, which is one of the East visited theme parks in Florida is gearing up for better things. Apparently, several other attraction places have closed up because of the upcoming Toy Story Land and Star Wars Land, which will use a rough estimate of 25 acres. But that aside, the Nov. 18 opening date of PizzeRizzo is expected to give a new feel to the old Pizza Planet Arcade and pizzeria, which has had to undergo a lengthy makeover.
Apparently, its alteration came about when Disney was closing off swaths of its park, the likes of a major counter-service eatery near the par’s area. Another earlier closure of the Studio Catering Co. outdoor food court also hit back at dining options. However, the fall of Disney World’s attendance in the first half of the year salvaged the situation of having longer lines elsewhere in the park.
Will Disney restaurant have an enhanced menu when it opens next month?
Meatball sub and antipasto salads are likely to feature on the menu of Disney restaurant once it re-opens its operations next month. But even though this looks similar to the old one at Pizza Planet, the desserts, and beverage options will be updated. Nonetheless, there will be much more in the lines of cosmetic, with a Muppets-themed pizzeria replacing the video-game arcade.
The park entertains peak holiday crowds. Thus a high-volume eatery is equally necessary. As a result of this thinking, Disney says that it is bringing down the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Hall to convert it into a food and beverage joint. So, is the park growing by the day?
But the opening of the rehabilitated new PizzeRizzo may take time
Disney has not had it all rosy in regards to turnstile clicks especially at its Florida resort. However, the revenue and operating profits from its theme parks division have been incredible thanks to price hikes, added in-park spending, and higher hotel rates.
Nonetheless, the opening of the rehabilitated Disney restaurant is likely to occur in 2018 if not 2021 and at a time when Disney World will be celebrating its 50years of being in operation. There are chances that the park will also change its name. Meanwhile, the company’s stocklast traded at $93.85, a fall of $0.17 or 0.18%.
