Far Cry 4 Coming November On Xbox One, PS4, PC and Previous Generations

May 19, 2014 - By Jan Rainey

Ubisoft have announced that Far Cry 4 will go on sale November 18, in North America, while Europe will get it on the 20th, and the UK on the 21st.

The first person shooter will be available across all major platforms, including PC, the PS4 and Xbox One, and the previous generation PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles.

Though more will be revealed at E3 in June, the backdrop of the story will take place in the Himalayas, as a sequel to Far Cry 3, and will keep with the open world gameplay. Players will navigate the fictional region of Kryat, which is ruled by a tyrannical King, and will have access to a wide range of weaponry, transport, and even animals.

The latest instalment was developed by Ubisoft Montreal and Toronto, with help from Red Storm Entertainment (of Rainbow Six fame). Executive Producer Dan Hay says he wants to “exceed fans expectations” this time around.

The Far Cry series has proven itself to be a formidable franchise, having sold 6 million units of Far Cry 3 and 1 million of the Blood Dragon spin off.

Gamers who are willing to commit to a pre-order of the new title will gain access to a limited edition upgrade, boasting three extra missions based around Far Cry 3 character Hurk and his impaler harpoon.

Far Cry 4 will join Assassin’s Creed Unity, Just Dance, The Crew and Watch Dogs, as Ubisoft’s flagship titles for 2014.
