X-Men Days Of Future Past Coming To DVD Soon

June 13, 2014 - By Jan Rainey

According to early pre-orders popping up on the European Amazon shopping website, X-Men: Days Of Future Past, is set to be released on DVD and Blu-ray this coming October.

The popular film that hit theatres in May is already the highest grossing X-Men movie in history, and has received positive reviews from fans and professional critics alike.

It opened worldwide at the Box Office at $302 million, and domestically is currently at $196.5 million. With a production budget of $200 million it’s nothing short of a success.

Though the DVD and Blu-ray release has not yet been confirmed by 20th Century Fox, Amazon Germany has the title listed for October 30th, 2014. No word on what extras may be contained in the release, but it was an action packed film (well worth a re-watch) and there’s plenty of potential for deleted scenes and the like.

The latest in the X-Men franchise which has a certified fresh rating of 91 percent, follows Wolverine (reprised by Hugh Jackman) as he travels back in time to prevent the emergence of the Sentinels – robots initially created to hunt mutants, but that have now also turned on humans.

Despite the overall positive reception, some critics panned the plot as being too familiar to previous blockbuster Hollywood franchise The Terminator. However since the story was lifted from the comics, it technically predates The Terminator by about four years.

Expect the official DVD announcement in the coming weeks.
